據外媒報導，美國麻塞諸塞州13歲男孩羅素·拉曼(Russell Laman)和他的父親蒂姆·拉曼(Tim Laman)在峇里島潛水的時候，成功模仿了魚類，張口讓水中的蝦類進入並幫他潔牙。

據新民網報導，神奇的是，水下的白色帶狀清潔蝦順利進入到了羅素的口中並且開始取出羅素牙齒間的『食物』。『感覺像是牙醫在我口中進進出出地做各種小動作』，羅素興奮地說，『有點癢但不是很厲害。』羅素從6歲起就和父親一起潛水，對水下活動有著豐富的經驗。他發現水中的魚類會依靠蝦潔牙。他和父親在一塊凸出的海綿狀岩層附近發現了一個『牙齒清潔站』，清潔蝦在這裡提供服務。羅素大膽地在這裡進行了嘗試。

在23公尺深的水下取出牙齒矯正器並張開口屏住呼吸超過30秒，是很有難度的，尤其是對於一個年僅13歲的青少年。但是，羅素順利地完成了這一切，在清潔結束時，他仍然模仿魚類，慢慢合上嘴唇，清潔蝦感受到信號，從他口中游了出來。
