南投在24日晚間驚傳發生一起死亡車禍意外，一輛休旅車在行經仁愛鄉慈峰產業道路時遭前車推擠翻落山谷，造成1死2傷不幸慘劇。

根據南投縣消防局仁愛分隊表示，這起不幸車禍發生在24日晚間6時50分左右，事發當時休旅車正行經仁愛鄉慈峰產業道路，疑因前方車輛上坡起步失敗，而遭前車後退推擠，因而翻落山谷造成死亡悲劇。

警消人員獲報後立即趕往現場處理，從休旅車中將駕駛劉姓男子以及劉男妻子和3歲女兒救出；但不幸的是劉男在被救出時已無生命跡象，而劉妻及女兒則因傷重而立即送往埔里基督教醫院進行急救。
