獨居女子猝死　寵物貓吞屍果腹

【綜合報導】英國56歲獨居女子維爾(Janet Veal)，最近3個月都沒有露面，警方登門調查，赫然發現她倒斃在廚房、屍骨已經不全，相信是她飼養的整群貓因為沒人照顧、沒糧沒水飢餓難當，才被迫吃主人屍體果腹。

警方日前在死因庭上表示，今年4月接到珍納鄰居報警，指她的信箱堆滿信件，連日來不見蹤影，警方破門進屋調查，發現門窗全關上，滿地垃圾，以及許多隻貓的屍體，隨即在廚房發現遺體殘缺不全的死者，死狀恐怖。

由於死者的屍體不完整，難以辨識她真正的死因，只知她近年胸口經常不適，法醫估計她可能是因慢性阻塞性肺病致死。
