5周大寶寶　成英國最小器捐者

【周佩萱／綜合外電報導】英國一名22歲腎臟衰竭的女子撒米拉庫瑟，成功接受移植手術，而她的捐贈者是一名只有5周大的寶寶，這個寶寶也成為英國有史以來，最年輕的器官捐贈者。
 
這個寶寶因受到嚴重感染，導致心臟衰竭身亡，爸媽決定捐出寶寶可用的器官，也因此救了庫瑟一命，庫瑟接受7個小時的手術，成功將4公分長的腎臟移植體內，移植後的腎臟將能長到相當於成人腎臟的四分之三大小。
 
不過出現這麼小的器官捐贈者，也反映出英國器官捐贈者嚴重不足的問題，醫生不得不將小於2個月大生命垂危的寶寶，也列入捐贈範圍內，而且要和傷心欲絕的父母協商捐贈問題，也成醫生一大難題。
